Ti:Sapphire laser optics

A Ti:Sapphire laser material refers to a titanium-doped sapphire (Ti:Al₂O₃) crystal, which is widely used as a gain medium in tunable lasers.

Key Features:

  • Broad Wavelength Tunability: Ti:Sapphire lasers can operate in the range of 450–1100 nm.

  • Ultra-Short Pulse Generation: Commonly used in femtosecond (fs) and picosecond (ps) lasers.

  • High Efficiency: When pumped with green lasers (like Nd:YAG or frequency-doubled Nd:YVOâ‚„ lasers at 532 nm), Ti:Sapphire efficiently converts energy into laser output.

  • Solid-State Laser Medium: The Ti:Sapphire crystal is a solid material, making it durable and stable.

Applications:

  • Ultrafast Spectroscopy

  • Multiphoton Microscopy

  • Medical and Biomedical Imaging

  • Quantum Optics

  • Precision Metrology

  • Materials Processing
